Jackie happily spends her time raising her two young children with her loving husband Brian and working full time as an innovation brand manager at Johnsonville Sausage. She grew up on a dairy farm in Nebraska and attributes her desire to do meaningful work that can do good for the world to her upbringing and mission trips in high school that allowed her service opportunities throughout the U.S. and in Africa. She attended Marquette University where Milwaukee became home and her interest and desire to serve others and make a difference continued to grow.

Jackie has enjoyed a broad range of volunteer work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin, Junior Achievement, St. Ben’s & St. John’s meal programs in Milwaukee, her parish’s religious education programs, and various mentorship opportunities. She’s also serving on the leadership committee for Johnsonville’s new Women’s Resource Group, WJVL, and has always been drawn to work that supports women and children.

When Jackie and Brian are not working, you may see them all around a gym, as Brian coaches high school basketball and Marquette basketball is a family favorite.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Br. Javier is the youngest of four children. Upon graduation from high school in Puerto Rico, he ventured to Columbus, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University with double majors in journalism and political science. After working as a news writer/translator for the local PBS station’s newscast in Puerto Rico, Br. Javier enrolled in law school at New England Law in Boston, Massachusetts. He proceeded to practice law in Florida, primarily as a public defender.

Then, in 2014, Br. Javier moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to join the City Election Commission, where he worked as the bilingual elections coordinator. Later, he would join Legal Action of Wisconsin, assisting prisoners with public benefits. It is during this time that he began to seriously discern religious life. In 2017, he entered formation with the Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Franciscan Order. He professed perpetual solemn vows in July 2022 and was ordained a priest in June 2023. He currently serves as pastor at St. Francis of Assisi and St. Benedict the Moor parishes. This is a type of homecoming for him since St. Francis Church was the place in which Br. Javier’s discernment of religious life began.
