Room at the Inn

Room at the Inn

St. Bahkita Catholic Worker House

Greetings Friends,

Following our community meal the beautiful Christmas ornaments were hung on the tree with care. The tree stood exceptionally beautiful. And then, came the words “I never decorated a Christmas tree before. It’s so special”. Christ has found room at the Inn.

The tree is generously donated and the ornaments are likewise. Matter of fact, so is the community meal, the beautiful table and chairs that flank the tree, as well as the presents that sit at its base. To say Christ is no longer here would be a misunderstanding of His message. In the words of our founder, Dorothy Day, “It is no use saying that we are born two thousand years too late to give room to Christ. Nor will those who live at the end of the world have been born too late. Christ is always with us, always asking for room in our hearts.”

Some of us will be heading to St. Martin de Porres for Midnight Mass. This was at the request of a couple of our women who are survivors. And Christmas lunch on the 25th will certainly be sacred and special. Sleep well this Christmas season knowing you have helped with your prayers, service, and donations to make room at the Inn.

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!! And many blessings for a loving and peace filled 2024. Come Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, come.

Love and prayers,

Anne
