Hello Friends of St. Bakhita Catholic Worker House!
It is with a grateful heart that we offer you Christmas greetIngs. As we ready ourselves to open our home to those with “no room at the Inn” we remember the words of Dorothy Day, founder of the Catholic Worker Movement:
“It is no use to say that we are born two thousand years too late to give room to Christ. Nor will those who live at the end of the world have been born too late. Christ is always with us, always asking for room in our hearts”.
Please pray for our us as we wait in anticipation of opening St. Bakhita House to the women of Clare Community who are survivors of sexual exploitation. We do this, as Dorothy said, “not because these people remind us of Christ, but because they are Christ, asking us to find room for Him exactly as He did at the first Christmas”.
We will keep you posted as to our progress in January leading up to the planned Open House on February 8th.
In the meantime, thank you SO MUCH for all the prayerful support you have given us on the journey thus far. We will hold you and your family in prayer. God has been so good to us and we pray that you feel the same.
Blessings and peace,
