Can you help us, please?

Can you help us, please?

Greetings Friends!

A request:

“Can you make us some brownies tonight, please?” One simple question that speaks volumes. Having been asked that by one of our community members not long after opening our doors I have to admit it caught me by surprise. Think about how much trust it takes to ask that of a new friend. The request could be met with rejection or even annoyance. Or, hopefully, with a smile and an “of course”.

And it is with that same sense of trust that we now ask for your help. As I mentioned in an earlier email, we are reaching out during “giving Tuesday” to ask for your help. Not only do we need to continue to meet our usual operational expenses, but we have to fund a completely new roof on a very large home. Can you help us today, please?

Rest assured that we are deeply grateful for all the support you have already shown us through monetary gifts and prayers. Your generosity has helped us to create a beautiful home for five women survivors, offer Mass three times a week in our chapel, host prayer services, and lay the groundwork for educational and retreat opportunities in the upcoming year.

So during this season of giving we humbly ask you to consider giving to our efforts here at St. Bakhita Catholic Worker House. You can send a check to the address below or simply go to our website at https://www.bakhitahouse.org and scroll to the DONATE button for safe and easy giving!

Thank you so much for considering our plea and know that you are in our prayers and that we greatly appreciate yours.

Blessings and peace,

Anne
